28, 2016 - In executive session following the council's regular meeting, council members unanimously approved adding Connor Dixon and Jeff Greer as paid-by-call firefighters, subject to them passing physicals. The council also approved adding the titles of chaplain to Zach Parks and Bill Gutshall, as recommended by Fire Chief Darrell Wright.

A Chillicothe firefighter was promoted to the rank of engineer/ paramedic
following an executive session of the city council following its regular
meeting Monday evening, January 13, 2014. David Gillespie's promotion was recommended by Fire Chief Darrell Wright
and was approved unanimously by the five-member city council. Gillespie
became a paid-by-call firefighter in 1995 and became a fulltime member of
the department in 2000. Gillespie, 56, completed his paramedic training in
2005.

Hinnen Named Shift Commander

The Chillicothe City Council approved the promotion of two Chillicothe
Fire Department employees during an executive session Monday night. Lieutenant Les Hinnen was promoted to Captain and will now serve as a
shift commander. This replaces the position previously held by the late
Joe Darr. Hinnen started working for the CFD as a paid-by-call firefighter
in 1989. He became a full-time firefighter/EMT on Nov. 17, 1990. In 1998,
he was promoted to engineer. In 2010, he was promoted to lieutenant.
Hinnen is a lifelong resident of Livingston County. He graduated from
Livingston County R-3 School in Chula in 1977 and graduated from Wheeling
High School in 1981. Hinnen attended Grand River Technical School for auto
mechanics in 1982. Before working for the CFD, Hinnen was employed as a
truck driver and machine operator at Hinnen Hauling & Construction, Inc.
Hinnen married Sandi Jacques. Sandi is a sales associate at Sensenich
Jewelers. They have two daughters: Monica Burton, of Superior, Colo., and
Jessica Latta, of Independence, Mo. The Hinnens have lived in Chillicothe
for 29 years.
The promotion of Tracy Bradley from engineer/EMT to lieutenant/EMT was
also approved by the Council Monday night. This replaces the position
opened by Hinnen's promotion to Captain. Bradley has been employed by the
CFD for more than fifteen years, the past four years as engineer/EMT. Bradley grew up around the Dawn/Braymer
area and graduated from Braymer C-4 before earning her Associate's degree in
Healthcare Management from GRTS. In addition to her duties for the
CFD, Bradley also serves as a CPR teacher at GRTS and helps with the
EMT/Paramedic classes. Tracy Bradley is married to David Bradley. David is the manager of
O'Reilly Auto Parts. They have two sons: Drake, a 13-year-old seventh-grader at Chillicothe Middle School, and Landon, a 7-year-old
second-grader at Field Elementary.
Both of these promotions were recommended by Fire Chief Darrell Wright.
